Figures released by the Central Bank of Jordan Monday revealed an impressive 50.1 percent surge in tourism income during the initial seven months of 2023 when compared to the corresponding period in 2022, amassing a substantial value of USD 4,238,000.
The statistics further unveil a remarkable growth in tourism income during July 2023, registering a 19.4 percent increase in comparison to the same month in 2022, culminating in a figure of USD 782.1 million.
The data underscores that within the first seven months of 2023, tourism income experienced an impressive 50.1 percent rise, amounting to USD 4,238,000. This commendable growth is attributed to a surge in the influx of tourists, marking a remarkable growth rate of 51.3 percent. This growth is attributed to an increase in overnight tourists at a 47.0 percent growth rate and one-day tourists at a growth rate of 76.2 percent.
Furthermore, the data highlights an uptick in overseas tourism spending during July 2023, indicating a 13.1 percent increase in comparison to July 2022, summing up to USD 241.5 million. For the initial seven months of 2023, spending on overseas tourism has risen by a notable 37.9 percent, reaching a value of USD 1,147,000.
