Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of the Swedish Embassy in Amman on Thursday to convey a strong protest message to the Swedish government.

This was in response to an incident in Stockholm, where an extremist was allowed to attack the Holy Quran again, with police protection.

Jordan’s Ministry firmly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran, viewing it as an act of hatred and a crude provocation to the sentiments of nearly two billion Muslims. Such actions cannot be justified under the guise of freedom of expression.

It also emphasized the importance of the Swedish government taking necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such acts, as they represent a violation of universal human values, promote a dangerous culture of hatred, racism, and incite violence.

Jordan stressed that it stands firmly against Islamophobia, and this incident is something that Jordan utterly condemns.
