Israeli Occupation authorities handed over the body of the Egyptian soldier to Egypt, the Hebrew Channel 12 reported Monday.

Saturday, the military spokesperson for the Egyptian armed forces said that one of their security personnel stationed at the international border line was killed and two others were injured while chasing drug smugglers.

He also confirmed that three members of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) were killed as well.

The spokesperson added that one of their security personnel assigned to secure the international border line chased drug smugglers, during which he 'breached the security barrier and exchanged fire,' which led to the death of the IOF soldiers, two injuries and the death of one Egyptian security personnel.

He stressed that all the necessary search, inspection, security, and legal measures have been taken.
