Jill Biden, the wife of US President Joe Biden, toured the historic Al-Azhar Mosque in Egypt, expressing her admiration for its ancient architecture and minarets.

During her visit, she received an explanation from the President of Al-Azhar University, Dr. Salama Daoud, about the mosque's rich history.

Mrs. Biden also explored the Fatimid and Ottoman canopies, the pulpit of the mosque, and the Al-Jawhariya School. She had an opportunity to engage with students and discuss their educational experiences at Al-Azhar.

In addition to her mosque visit, Jill Biden made a point to see the Giza pyramids and the Great Sphinx, enjoying the breathtaking views.

The US Embassy in Cairo issued a press release stating that the First Lady aims to continue her efforts in empowering youth and reinforcing partnerships and shared priorities in the region during her visit to the Middle East and North Africa.

Born on June 3, 1951, in Hamilton, New Jersey, Jill Biden spent her birthday with her family over the past two years, often enjoying a leisurely bike ride, one of her favorite activities, alongside her husband, President Joe Biden.
