Wednesday, a royal banquet was held at the ‘Madareb Bani Hashem’ at the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC), in celebration of the upcoming Royal Wedding of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein and Miss Rajwa Al Saif, which will be held on June 1.

His Majesty King Abdullah II delivered a speech during the banquet and presented HRH with the 'Sword of Justice and Defense.'

The sword is made in Jordan from iron extracted from the stones surrounding the Citadel of Saladin in Ajloun.

The dinner was attended by approximately 4,000 people.

In line with local customs, the RHC announced that His Majesty will host the dinner over Jordan's festive national dish Mansaf, a well-known symbol of Jordanian hospitality and camaraderie, which was recently inscribed into UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.

The event will celebrate Jordan’s diverse social fabric and demonstrate the Royal Family’s profound respect for each segment of Jordanian society.

The invitee list includes members of the Royal Hashemite Family, representatives of the nation’s esteemed tribes, as wells as Jordan’s Circassian and Chechen communities, members of civil society organizations, businesspersons, youth figures, former and current government officials, as well as army and security agencies personnel.
