Tuesday night, a martyred Palestinian teenager, identified as Wadee’ Abu Rumouz, was laid to rest in the Yusufiya cemetery in occupied Jerusalem, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Only 25 members of his family could attend the burial due to restrictions imposed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF).

Local sources confirmed that a group of Palestinian youth was assaulted by the IOF for trying to attend Abu Rumouz's funeral.

According to Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud, the IOF prevented a number Abu Rumouz’s relatives from attending the funeral and confiscated the IDs and mobile phones of those who were allowed to attend.

The IOF imposed a number of conditions in order to hand over Abu Rumouz’s body, including banning chants and raising the Palestinian flag during the funeral.

His family was forced to pay 10,000 NIS before handing him over.

Abu Rumouz was shot in the chest by the IOF in the chest area during confrontations in Silwan in occupied Jerusalem back on Jan. 27.
