On Sunday afternoon, the Highway Patrol Department issued a statement declaring a temporary closure of the Desert Highway in both directions in the Swaqa descent area as a precautionary measure.

The department emphasized that this decision was made due to the elevated water level in the area. They also mentioned that their personnel are present at the site to provide directions and guidance, with the primary goal of ensuring public safety.

Earlier, ArabiaWeather website revealed Jordan is about to witness a shift in atmospheric instability towards the Badia regions, including the southern and central Badia. Thundercloud formation is currently active in these areas, accompanied by occasional heavy rain showers. The formation of thunderclouds might also bring about gusty winds leading to localized dust storms.
