The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a directive instructing all regional and international organizations and missions in Jordan to cease granting permits for military aircrafts to conduct military exercises and events between May 31, 2013, and June 2, 2023.

The directive was issued following a letter from the General Command of the Armed Forces, which requested that diplomatic bodies refrain from submitting requests to land aircrafts for military purposes during the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged international and regional missions to adjust the flight schedules of their aircrafts beyond the specified period. However, it is important to note that the circular does not apply to civil and commercial aviation, whether it involves arrivals or departures in Jordan. Civil and commercial air traffic will continue to operate without any changes.

Jordan is home to three civil airports, two located in the capital city of Amman and the third in the coastal city of Aqaba.
