Sudan's Head of Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, however, was unable to participate in the Arab Summit Conference despite receiving an invitation from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, according to a Sudanese diplomatic source speaking to Al-Jazeera.

The source explained that the absence of Al-Burhan is due to compelling circumstances in Sudan that require his presence in the country.

Instead, the Sudanese delegation is expected to be led by the envoy of the President of the Sovereignty Council and the Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Daffallah Al-Haj Ali.
