A dermatologist has been handed a four-year prison sentence by the Grand Criminal Court for sexually assaulting a young woman. The incident occurred at a private clinic in Amman when the victim, 20, sought medical attention for a rash on her body.

Despite the court's decision to imprison the dermatologist, he has been allowed to remain free until the final verdict is reached.

During her visit to the clinic, the doctor requested that the young woman remove her pants, but she declined and promptly left the premises.

Due to the persistence of her rash, the victim returned to the doctor after a few days. However, during this visit, the doctor examined her without the presence of a nurse or any of her relatives. It was during this examination, while the victim was seated, that she was subjected to sexual assault by the dermatologist.

She immediately filed a case against him.
