A 13-year-old American schoolboy managed to safely stop a school bus that was carrying dozens of students after its driver lost consciousness.

The young teen, Dillon Reeves, immediately took control of the bus’ steering wheel after noticing the driver had passed out and brought the bus to a stop in the middle of the road using the hand brake.

The vehicle was carrying 70 students from Lois E. Carter Middle School in Warren, Michigan.

“The City of Warren is very proud of our 7th Grade Hero Dillon Reeves,” Jonathan Lafferty, Warren city councilor, wrote on Facebook.

“This young man jumped into action when his school bus driver experienced a medical emergency, bringing the bus to a stop and avoiding what could have been a very tragic accident,” he added.
