The head of the Jordanian Astronomical Society Ammar Al-Sakji said if the decision to declare the first day of Eid Al-Fitr is based on the actual sighting of the crescent, then it will be Saturday.

However, if it will be based on astronomical calculations, then the first day will be Friday.

Seeing the crescent of the month of Shawwal will not be possible with the naked eye or telescopes in Jordan and the Arab World Thursday, said Sakji.

According to astronomers' calculations, the Shawwal crescent will be present Thursday (April 20).
