A Bangladeshi man tortured and killed his wife (of the same nationality), then attempted to commit suicide by jumping from their fifth-floor apartment in East Amman.

Tuesday, the Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court launched an investigation into the murder case of the woman who was in her twenties.

A source close to the investigation told Roya that the husband is currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital in Amman. The court issued a decision to detain him for 15 days pending investigations.

According to the source, the married couple got into a fight after the woman filed a complaint against her husband in court.

The public prosecutor charged the man with premeditated murder.

According to the forensic medical source, the cause of death was 'manual strangulation.'

The autopsy report stated that there were bite marks on the victim's face, marks showing that she was strangled with hands as well as a strap, and cuts on her scalp.
