The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced at dawn Friday that it launched raids on Lebanon in response to rockets launched from Lebanese territory to the Israeli Occupation, in an attack it attributed to Palestinian activists.

The IOF said in a brief statement, "The Israeli Defense Forces are currently carrying out strikes in Lebanon. Details will come later."

At least three explosions were heard at dawn Friday in the Tyre region in southern Lebanon, as reported by the AFP, hours after the Israeli Occupation announced that 34 rockets were fired from Lebanon towards the Israeli Occupation.

"We heard explosions. At least two shells landed near the camp," said Abu Ahmed, a resident of the Rashidieh refugee camp, south of Tyre.

The IOF said in a later statement that "its forces bombed targets, including infrastructure belonging to the Hamas organization in southern Lebanon."

It stressed that it "will not allow the Hamas organization to operate from inside Lebanon, and the Lebanese state bears responsibility for all directed fire emanating from its territory."

In the early hours of Friday morning, IOF fighter jets launched a series of raids on targets in the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.

A security source in Gaza said that the warplanes launched several new raids, targeting training sites belonging to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades (IQB), the armed wing of Hamas.
