Jordan recorded a total of 262 divorce cases during the first week of Ramadan, according to the official spokesperson for the Fatwa Department Hassan Abu Arqoub.

He explained that this number is considered "normal" compared to figures recorded in previous years' during the same time period.

Abu Arqoub told Roya Tuesday that this figure does not only involve Jordanian couples but also includes others residing in the Kingdom.

He noted that most of these divorces are “revocable divorce,” which means they are the first or second time that the couple gets divorced.

He called on citizens to try to manage their anger, as well as work on solving their problems by communicating effectively and being patient.
