The Public Security Directorate continued its Ramadan community initiatives in correctional facilities by allowing inmates to have Iftar with their families during the holy month of Ramadan.

Before Iftar, inmates participate in preparing the food for their families and they even get to pick the food served.

One of the inmates was reunited with her family members for the first time in 20 years, due to complicated family circumstances that kept them apart.

This decision aims to consolidate the values of the holy month, as well as emphasize the value of family within the rehabilitation programs.

This initiative is another way of enabling inmates to return to normal life as active members of society in a positive way.
