Nine people were involved in the armed family fight that left a father and son dead Thursday, according to a source close to the investigation.

The source told Roya that the Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court charged seven of the defendants with attempted murder (involving more than one person), based on the Penal Code.

The Public Prosecutor sentenced two defendants to 15 days in a correctional and rehabilitation center, pending investigations.

Four defendants are still hospitalized and receiving the necessary medical treatment following the fight, the source added.

The Public Prosecutor issued an arrest warrant against a defendant who is on the run from the law.

According to the source, the fight broke out between two groups within the same family, who were arguing over financial issues.

The first one being a father and his two sons (two of whom are the deceased).

The second group includes three of the deceased father’s siblings and three of their children.

The participants had agreed to meet at a specific place and time in southern Amman, all of whom were armed.

The bodies of the deceased were transported to the National Center for Forensic Medicine, where they were autopsied.

It was confirmed that they were both shot multiple times.
