Many Jordanians expressed confusion after they suddenly found the clocks on their phones had advanced by one hour after midnight Thursday.
This came after phones that update time automatically, changed their timing as it is annually scheduled, but Jordan’s government had already decided to remain Eastern European Summer Time meaning Daylight Saving Time would become permanent in the country.
This prevented many from having suhur (the pre-dawn prayer meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting), thinking they had woken up too late and missed it.
