EU chief Ursula von der Leyen warned China Thursday that its approach to Russian President Vladimir Putin's military operation in Ukraine would be central to shaping Beijing's ties with Europe, AFP reported.

"We have to be frank on this point. How China continues to interact with Putin's war will be a determining factor for EU-China relations going forward," the European Commission head said.
