A 4.5-magnitude earthquake hit the district of Ekinözü in the state of Kahramanmaraş in southern Turkey on Saturday.

The earthquake occurred at 07:39 local time, according to the Turkey Disaster and Management Authority (AFAD).

AFAD added that the earthquake’s epicenter was in Ekinözü at a depth of seven kilometers.

A second earthquake had hit Kahramanmaraş earlier on Saturday morning, with a magnitude of 4.2.
