Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) declared a medium state of emergency, starting Saturday morning, to deal with the upcoming weather conditions.

The media spokesperson for the GAM, Naser Rahamneh, confirmed the readiness of the Municipality personnel to deal with any emergency situation, calling on citizens to contact the numbers (102 and 117180) in case any issue arises.

He also reiterated the need to steer clear from valleys and low areas, as well as inspect the ground near shops that are below street level, and for merchants to take preventive measures when storing goods in warehouses and basements.

GAM called on contractors and owners of construction projects to secure building materials in order to avoid drifting and causing direct closure of rainwater drainage system.
