Thousands of Palestinians performed the dawn prayer on the first Friday of Ramadan in the Aqsa Mosque.

According to Palestinian media, Muslim worshipers crossed the Israeli Occupation checkpoints deployed early in the morning before arriving into the mosque for prayer.

Many Palestinians called for others to break their fast during Ramadan inside the courtyards of the Aqsa Mosque as well as perform prayers in the mosque.

One of the goals behind this is to intensify the presence of Palestinians in the mosque during the holy month to prove Palestinians’ right to the Aqsa Mosque and the city of Jerusalem, in light of settlers regularly storming into the mosque.
