Tuesday, the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) rescued a first-grader who was forgotten at his school in the Beit Ras area in Irbid.

According to Roya's correspondent, the CDD was notified that a child could be heard screaming and crying inside a closed public school building.

A rescue team was immediately dispatched to the location and contacted teachers from that school who came, opened the door and handed the child over to his parents.

The director of education for that district Mohammad al-Momani told Roya that the child was left behind while he was waiting for his sisters.

He noted that the child is in good health and investigations are underway to hold those responsible accountable.
