Jordan sends 14-truck convoy to Syria

Sunday, the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization sent another relief aid convoy as part of the Kingdom's response to the deadly earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey on Feb. 6.

The 14-truck convoy was sent in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Jordanian Armed Forces to Syria.

The convoy transported food, blankets, mattresses, water, medicines and medical supplies, which will be delivered across the Jordanian-Syrian border to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and United Nations organizations.

Following royal directives, the first Jordanian aid arrived in Syria on board of two airplanes on Feb. 8.

A total of three planes were sent to Damascus and Aleppo.

The first land convoy was sent to Syria on Feb. 10.

A total of 15 convoys were sent from Jordan to Syria, involving a total of 124 trucks.

The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization continues to accept donations and, currently, they are requesting tents, electricity generators, supplies for children and the elderly, infant formula, food, folding beds, blankets, mattresses, mats, pillows, flashlights, winter clothing and shoes, water, medication, medical supplies, bags, sleeping bags, respirators, first aid supplies, resuscitation bags, rubble removal equipment, rescue equipment, oxygen cylinders with flowmeters, patient beds, patient transport carts, oxygen masks, medical gauze, sterile medical gloves, ambulances, and general surgical tools.
