China said Friday it rejected "smears and accusations" by Micronesia's president, after the island nation's leader accused Beijing of bribery, harassment and "political warfare."

Asked about the comments, foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told a regular press briefing: "The smears and accusations against China in them do not accord with the facts. China absolutely does not accept them."
