Authorities arrest 11 drug dealers in 48 hours

The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) arrested 11 drug dealers in Amman, Ajloun, Maan and Central Badia over the past 48 hours.

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said a large quantity of narcotics and firearms were seized during the raids.

The AND conducted raids in relation to two cases in the Central Badia region, during which three people were arrested for storing 20,000 narcotic pills in a tent.

The second case involved a drug dealer who was arrested while transporting narcotic substances including seven slabs of hashish.

In Amman, the AND conducted raids in relation to three cases, during which four dealers were arrested.

In the first case, seven slabs of hashish and 2,000 narcotic pills were seized.

During the second raid, half a kilo of hashish, a quantity of crystal meth and a firearm were seized.

As for the third, a total of 1,000 narcotic pills were seized.

In Ajloun, two drug dealers, as well as a wanted person classified as dangerous, were arrested in two separate cases.

The wanted man was charged with robbery and attempted murder, among other charges. He also was in possession of a quantity of narcotic substances.

In the second case, 3,000 narcotic pills were seized.

In Ma'an, a drug dealer was arrested in possession of a quantity of narcotic pills.

All those arrested were referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court.
