Dozens of protesters rallied Sunday in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, against the high cost of living, at the call of the Democratic Confederation of Labor.
"We came to participate in this rally organized by the Democratic Confederation of Labour, which has called for demonstrations across the country, to defend the citizen's rights and to protest against high prices and the resulting strain on Moroccans, due to the continuous increase in prices, whether in terms of diesel or food products," a Moroccan citizen said.
He added: "This protest is a reminder to those in charge that the congested social situation in the country cannot go on like this. It is necessary to review the issues that concern the working class first and foremost, and the citizens second, to lower the prices and respond to the demands of the Democratic Confederation of Labour and implement the results of the discussions that have been previously agreed upon."
