Thursday, Lebanese protesters attacked a number of banks in Beirut, according to Roya's correspondent in Lebanon.

Demonstrators from the "Depositors' Scream Association" started a fire in front of a number of banks and smashed their windows in the Lebanese capital.

They also set fire to the house of the head of the Association of Banks, Salim Sfeir, in the Sin El Fil area in Beirut, she added.

She noted that firefighters were able to put out the fires and prevent them from spreading.

One of the protesters said they will return to the streets Friday, saying the Lebanese people are suffering due to the ongoing economic crisis, especially with the collapse of the Lebanese pound.
