Sunday, schools across Syria have resumed education, except for the quake-affected areas, after being suspended following the deadly earthquake that struck Monday.

All kindergartens as well as vocational, public and Sharia schools have welcomed students back to their classrooms, excluding schools in Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama and Idleb.

The directors of education, in coordination with the governors, seek to assess the situation in their areas and work on gradually resuming education based on the developing situation.

Head of Education Directorate at the Ministry of Education Imad Hazeem told SANA, “students returned to school on Sunday after the temporary suspension that occurred due to the repercussions of the earthquake, after ensuring the safety of the school buildings.”
