Saturday, Jordanians expressed their frustration after the prices of flight tickets from Turkey to Jordan nearly tripled, following the deadly earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria.

The father of a Jordanian survivor, that was pulled from under the rubble, told Roya that he bought a ticket for his son for JD 550 dinars, noting that the price for the same ticket before the quake ranged between JD 100-140.

The head of the Travel and Tourism Agents Association Suhail Halasa said that the price of one-way ticket from Turkey to Amman ranges between JD 270 and JD 700, according to airlines.

He explained that ticket prices are based on supply and demand and flight dates, adding that the average price for a round trip stands at JD 290.
