Friday, the Irbid Public Prosecutor charged the man who stole JD 11,000 from a money exchange shop Thursday with "armed robbery," based on Article 401 of the Penal Code.

The Public Prosecutor decided to detain the perpetrator for a period of 14 days, subject to renewal, noting that the offense ascribed to him carries a minimum penalty of five years in prison.

Thursday night, the police arrested the thief and retrieved the amount stolen, in record time.

Notably, it was reported that the thief walked into the shop, jumped behind the counter, stole the money while having a sharp tool in hand, then fled the scene.
