Thursday, the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the suspension of attendance in all Syrian universities until Feb. 18, according to Roya's reporter.

The decision came in order to ensure "psychological comfort" for students and their families, following the deadly earthquake that struck Monday.

He pointed out that all exams, in all public and private universities and technical institutes, have been postponed.

Notably, the death toll from the earthquake reached 3,162 in Syria.
