Wednesday, the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) said it responded to 800 calls during the current depression affecting Jordan.

The Mayor of Amman Youssef Al-Shawarbeh said that the classification of the level of urgency is being based on the weather forecast, stressing that the GAM's staff is working around the clock to ensure citizens and residents' safety.

Shawarbeh indicated that all main roads are passable in Amman, as well as most secondary roads, with the exception of some feeder roads in Tlaa Al-Ali, Jubaiha and Dahiyat Al-Rasheed.

He noted that their staff is currently working on clearing and reopening these roads.

Notably, the GAM equipped 328 large construction machinery, 35 snowplows, 150 water suction motors of various sizes and capacities, and nine large sewage water suction motors, to make sure it can respond to all emergencies in light of the current weather conditions.
