The mountain highlands in the north and center of Jordan witnessed heavy snowfall on Monday night and will continue to fall intermittently on Tuesday.

The peaks of Amman, Jerash and Ajloun also witnessed snowfall, according to the Meteorological Department.

Director of the Meteorological Department Raed Khattab said that the cold air mass affecting Jordan will intensify Tuesday.

The weather will be very cold, windy, and rainy in the north and center of Jordan. Parts of the southern and eastern regions of the Kingdom will witness heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and hail at times.

Snow is expected from time to time over high mountainous areas, which are 1000 meters above sea level, and it may reach areas that are 900 meters above sea level.

Snow accumulations are expected in high areas.
