Five children died from suffocation in two separate incidents in Zarqa and Jerash over the past 24 hours.

In Zarqa, three children died Thursday in a house fire on al-Bareed Street, as reported by the Zarqa Civil Defense Directorate.

The bodies of the three children were transported to a nearby hospital and the cause of death was narrowed down to suffocation.

In Jerash, two teenage girls died after inhaling the gases emitted from a heater, according to a security source.

The source told Roya that an ambulance rushed to the location and transported the bodies to Jerash Governmental Hospital.
