Osama Al-Tarifi, Chief Operating Officer at ArabiaWeather, said that Jordan will witness snowfall in the southern heights, which are more than 1,200 meters above sea level, in addition to the peaks of Ajloun and Jerash, and some heights of the capital, Amman and Balqa.

He told Roya on Wednesday that the snow accumulations in the Balqa and Amman heights are limited and will not last for long.

He pointed out that the impact of the current depression will end Thursday morning and will begin to stabilize with the weather remaining cold.

Tarifi said that the weather is observing a huge polar air mass, which will affect the region at the beginning of next week.

He pointed out that the impact of this polar mass is not direct on Jordan, but it will affect Turkey, Syria and Lebanon, and will lead to snow storms.

Tarifi indicated that the nature of the depressions that are expected to affect Jordan next week will mostly be rainy but the results of air maps and readings may change despite the accuracy of the current forecasts, stressing that the huge polar air mass may result in an air depression at the end of the week. However, he did not specify the nature of that air depression.

He added that February will witness an increase in rain, while the weather will remain cold. He lastly said he was optimistic about snowfall in February.
