Saturday, Israeli occupation soldiers opened direct fire in the direction of Palestinian journalists as they were covering an event at the entrance to the town of Beita, south of Nablus in the West Bank.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, none of the journalist were hurt.

Journalist Wahaj Bani Moufleh told WAFA that while he was preparing a report with his colleague Mohammad Sumrin on the Israeli Occupation army’s closure of Beita entrance with cement boulders, the soldiers opened fire in their direction despite the fact that they were wearing vests that clearly indicated that they were press.

Sumrin said a couple of soldiers first fired tear gas canisters at a group of youths, then came to where they were and opened fire in their direction but over their heads.

The soldiers kept coming in their direction telling them to pull back immediately and go into the town to avoid getting shot, he said.

Friday night, an Israeli Occupation settler opened fire and shot five people at Beita.

Afterwards, soldiers came to the area and ,instead of arresting the attacking settler, they placed the boulders at the entrance of the town, blocking the movement of people, even on foot.
