Tuesday, the Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites Muhammad Al-Khalayleh said that Hajj will be held at full capacity this year, accomodating to approximately the same numbers it did before the coronavirus pandemic.

He also announced the start of the initial registration process for Jordanian citizens (and residents of the Gaza Strip residing in the Kingdom) who want to perform Hajj in 2023.

People can register through the online Hajj portal (https://hajj.gov.jo) starting Jan. 25 morning and until Feb. 7.

Khalayleh noted that this year they are prioritizing people who were born after 1959 (among the older age group), people who have never performed Hajj before and those who have been vaccinated (two doses) against COVID-19.
