A Palestinian, 42, was shot dead by a settler near Beit El settlement, north of Ramallah, claiming he was trying to carry out a stabbing attack.

News agencies, quoting Hebrew media, reported that the victim attempted to carry out a stabbing attack, which led to the settler shooting him directly, killing him on the spot.

Hebrew website, Walla, said that the operation ended without any casualties among the settlers.

No further details were reported from either side.
