The remains of 11 individuals were found on the outskirts of occupied Jerusalem Tuesday evening, according to the Palestinian police.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, according to the Palestinian News Agency, Wafa.

Palestinian police spokesperson Lieutenant Loai Irzeqat said that police found skulls, bones, and an unclear piece of metal suspected of being a sharp instrument.

The remains are suspected of belonging to soldiers who have been buried many years ago.

Following the incident, some reported that these remains belong to Jordanian soldiers. A Jordanian delegation is expected to arrive in Palestine on Wednesday to identify the remains of the 11.
