The head of the National Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Center, Raeda Qutob, said that Jordan has not recorded any deaths from the COVID-19 over the past few weeks.

The COVID-19 situation in the Kingdom is stable, as there has been a significant drop in the number of coronavirus cases over the past four months.

Qutob told Amen FM Wednesday that the total number of weekly cases has been less than 100.

She said that a new strain of the Omicron has been reported in several countries, which is why Jordan is planning on increasing the number of coronavirus tests, in order to know the extent of the spread of the virus, identify new strains and keep the health situation under control.

She said that despite the rapid spread of newer strains, the symptoms of the virus are mild and last for no more than five days.
