Public Security Directorate carried out Wednesday night search and rescue operations for trapped people, in light of the prevailing and unstable weather conditions.
The Civil Defense personnel and the Desert Patrol responded to reports of nine trapped individuals in the Jafr area, south of Jordan, after rainfall caused the vehicles to be stuck in the muddy ground. Police rescued them and marched them back to safety; a walking distance of four kilometers.
Additionally, a family whose vehicle got stuck in a pool of water in the Al-Basiliya area in Madaba were rescued by the Civil Defense and taken to a safe place.
Authorities also continued their search and rescue operations for a missing person in a flooded area in the Khan Al-Zabib area in Madaba Governorate. Teams are still combing the area.
Public Security Directorate reiterated its warnings regarding the danger of torrential rains, stressing the need not to risk cutting or approaching flooded, and the need for safe use of all kinds of heating devices, not to leave them burning while sleeping, and to keep homes ventilated well.
