The spokesperson for the Ministry Of Water And Irrigation, Omar Salameh, said that the ministry intends to stop pumping water to Amman, Zarqa and Balqa starting from the morning of Sunday, Nov. 27, until the morning of Saturday, Dec. 3 for necessary maintenance.

Speaking to Roya, on Monday, Salameh added that the ministry carries out periodic maintenance of water facilities that operate around the clock, stressing that any interruption during the summer negatively affects water resources, as the water consumption is normally higher during the summer.

He pointed out that maintenance work will be carried out to replace damaged pumps, in addition to periodic maintenance of power lines to ensure their durability.

He stressed that additional quantities of water, about 10 percent, will be pumped in the week prior to the suspension.

The following are the areas to be affected by the suspension of water pumping:

Amman:
