China records over 4,000 COVID-19 cases

China recorded on Sunday a total of 4,610 new COVID-19 infections, 588 of which experienced symptoms and 4,022 had no symptoms.

According to the National Health Commission, China had recorded 3,837 cases the previous day, 657 of whom showed symptoms and 3,180 were asymptomatic.

The country recorded no new deaths, so the death toll remained at 5,226.

As of Nov. 5, mainland China had recorded 263,554 asymptomatic cases of coronavirus.

Local government data showed that the Chinese capital, Beijing, recorded 43 asymptomatic cases and six asymptomatic cases, compared to 37 asymptomatic cases and five asymptomatic cases the previous day.

The local health authority stated that the city of Shanghai, the financial center of the country, did not record any symptomatic cases, while five asymptomatic cases were detected, compared to no symptomatic cases and five asymptomatic cases the previous day.
