The Grand Criminal Court sentenced a man of Arab nationality to 20 years imprisonment, as he was found guilty of killing his wife.

Last year, the accused killed his wife but tried to convince the police that she committed suicide, however, investigations revealed that he fatally shot her following family disputes.

The murderer, who has been detained since September 2021, was charged with premeditated murder.

The accused, a father to seven, used to beat and abuse his wife. He also used to bring his mistress to live with his wife and children in the same house.

One night, following a dispute, the victim managed to escape and went to their guesthouse. She immediately locked the door. However, her husband found her whereabouts and shot her in the head from one of the windows overlooking the guesthouse.

He then put the weapon next to her body to hide his crime and to deceive the security men that she had committed suicide.

Initially, it was suspected that she did commit suicide as there were no witnesses to the incident.

However, the report of the forensic medicine department revealed that the place where the bullet was found in the woman’s head, shows that she was killed.
