The number of those who died after a boat carrying migrants from Lebanon sank off Syria's coast on Thursday, Sept. 22, rose to 100.
Syrian media reported that this death toll is among the highest in the eastern Mediterranean, as only 20 passengers out of the 150 survived the incident.
The Director of Syrian Ports, Samer Kobresli, confirmed in a statement to the press that the number of victims of the Lebanese boat has reached 100 people so far..
Those on board were mostly Lebanese, Syrians and Palestinians, and included both children and elderly people, the UN said.
