Jordan votes to allow Ukraine to address UN General Assembly

Jordan voted Friday on a resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly allowing the Ukrainian President, Vladimir Zelensky, to virtually address the General Assembly during the upcoming general deliberations.

The resolution stated that "Ukraine can submit a pre-record to the Head of State, which will be played in the General Assembly Hall during the general debate of the Assembly at its seventy-seventh session, after being presented by its representative (permanent delegate) physically present in the Assembly Hall."

The resolution said that the procedure applies to the general discussions of the current session only.
101 countries voted in favor of the resolution, 7 countries opposed it, 19 countries abstained, while the other countries were absent from the session.
