A 19-year-old woman was shot dead by a 29-year-old man after she refused to get engaged to him. The incident took place in the Menoufia governorate in Egypt.

Egyptian authorities received a report of the killing of Amani Abdel Karim Al-Jazzar, who was a student at the Faculty of Physical Education, by a young man, later identified as Ahmed Fathi Amira.

Witnesses said that the young man shot her in the back in front of her family's house. Al-Jazzar was rushed to a hospital, however, she passed away before arriving.
