Data issued by the Department of Statistics showed that the names "Muhammad" and "Salma" were the most registered birth names in Jordan in the year 2021. 

According to the data, 7,339 babies the name "Muhammad," or 7.2 percent of the total number of males born last year, while the number of female babies who bore the name "Salma" was 1,716, or 1.8 percent of the total number of females born last year.
