Tuesday, Aug. 23, a man stabbed his wife to death inside one of the patients’ rooms at Al-Bashir Hospital.

The man came into her room and stabbed her 30 times with a sharp object. A medical source said that most of the stabs were on the left side of the chest. 

According to an autopsy conducted by the National Center for Forensic Medicine, the cause of death was enormous blood loss.

The Public Prosecutor of Major Crimes has charged the murderer with premeditated murder.

A source close to the investigation told Roya that marital disputes were a motive for the perpetrator to hide a sharp object and attack his wife, who was supposed to undergo surgery in the orthopedic department in the hospital on the same day.

The source indicated that the wife had to undergo the surgery as she was severely beaten by her husband 10 days ago, which led to him breaking her jaw.

The source added that the victim had filed lawsuits against him at the Sharia and Criminal Court a while ago, which, according to the source, prompted the killer to commit his crime.

The perpetrator tried to escape, but policemen in the hospital arrested the murderer after he was surrounded by the citizens.
